The Rudiments of Video Production: Let’s Go Back to the A, B, C’s.

From Kodak to digital cameras, from camera
strips and films to digitized and scanned images– that’s how busy
our world is. From Kodak to ready to print cameras, everything has
transformed dramatically. From Kodak cameras to
luxury SLR cameras, advancement in technology has burnt the candle at both ends. With all the devices
and surprises that a single click can create, not one can deny that we can reach
almost everything– even the stars. Within just
a matter of seconds, it feels like we can possibly do just anything. It feels like everything is possible at present. However, all the technological devices in the world
can not aid you in your seek for perfection if you are clueless
about how to maximize the functions of your gadgets. But nothing can be aimed if you do
not know how to use your material. But things seem to be unreachable if you can not maximize the use of your device.

In video production, it is a must that you
know all the basics of your gadget. For you to be able
to use it in shooting videos, you need to know the
specifics of your device. You can
not use your device properly if you know
its specifics. Now, the ones I’ll be going
over may not be new to you, but these are the
techniques that are often skipped and
neglected by most video makers,
consequently causing them immense
headache during post-production. Listed here are some
crucial techniques that all video
makers should know. Check the following tips when shooting a video for you to
be productive.

MOVE.

Too much dependence on your
gadget may be one of your major
dilemmas when shooting a video. Relying much on
what your device can do is a big mistake when shooting a video. You shouldn’t
be relying just on the elements of
your device and what it can offer you. Rather than being highly dependent on your camera’s
zooming capabilities, you should always move around and try to
obtain a closer view of your subject, and look for the best angles. It is you who should adapt to get a much
better view of your subject. Even when the zooming power
of your camera is outstanding, nothing beats
close recording of photos. There are major
distinctions when it comes to zoomed shots
and the ones that you shot closely. There are many differences when it comes to zoomed photos
and those that you shot carefully. Closely shot pictures
are way better than zoomed items.

In
addition, if you’re aiming at getting the best sound quality, the
microphone should be nearer the sound source. Also,
if you want to get a good video, the mic has to be near the
source. Clear audio can only be heard if your mic is near the subject.
Everybody knows that the closer the microphone to the speaker is, the louder
and the more clear the voice is. Everybody knows that the closer the mic to the source is, the better
the audio of the video becomes. It is just common sense that for you to obtain a good
audio quality, you have to be near the source.

It’s Automatic.

No success is automatic, and the sooner
you employ this in your professional life, the better. Success does
not come easy, you have to work for it. Success is a hard earned thing. Even if your camera may have features
that always come handy such as auto-exposure or auto-focus,
switching on these features will not be the best thing for you to
do during video production, unless your gadget already has a brain of its own
and it already knows what to focus on and what
not to. Even when your device has all the
state-of-the-art features, nothing beats
the radiance of the human mind. Gadgets with
advanced features would not matter if the user
does not have enough knowledge and skills in the field of photography and
videography.

Through manually
manipulating your lens and your gadget, you
‘d get so much more in return. By discovering and changing your gadget
manually, you will surely get better results. Doing things
personally will help you enhance more your personal skills and get better results later on. Not only will you be able to pay attention to what can best show the audience what the
shot wants to portray, you ‘d also have the ability to adjust
the lighting of the shot. From focusing your subject to the proper lightning,
you can do it well with your new gadget manually.

Once is Not Enough.

Getting numerous shots may or may not be an advantage during video
production. Taking a variety of shots can be a
good or bad point. Getting multiple shots is can be a real
advantage if the objective is right.
First of all, it can benefit your video more,
specifically since you ‘d be presented with
more alternatives and you can compare the shots
and decide what the best is for your video from there. Among
its advantage is that you’ll have lots of photos to
select from. It is good in a sense that you
have many selections. However, there is no
need for you to shoot excessively. But, this is not needed
all the time. But overshooting should not be a common
practice. Overthinking is one habit you need to do away with. Thinking too much should be
stayed clear of. You should stop thinking
excessively.

Moreover, you have to
decide what kind of shots you need for your video. More so,
you need to know the kind of shots you need for you
video. Also, you have to figure out first the type of
photos you really need for you video. While most chase films use motion shots, other videos use static ones. While most use
motion shots, others prefer static ones. Static pictures
can also be used to create videos. If your video
involves a lot of movement
like running, jumping or ahem, twerking, then it means that the motion shot is
best for you. If your video needs to have more
movements like jumping and running, you should get motion shots.
